If you like the setting and you're not against slow-pacing then give this novel a try. It's not that it's without mistakes or logical errors, but it's easy to overlook them and not pay attention. As I've said at first, it's a good novel without any glaring flaws. Other than these I can't really think of anything else. It's better to wait for more chapters before reading everything in one go. The story is already slow-paced enough but author is still using multiple POV method to show how the overall situation is developing, or what plots and conspiracies some a**holes are plotting. It's 2/3 into the story and MC is still single without showing any interest in wooing them. Though some potential heroines were introduced at first, they are more like friends, no romantic development was seen. It's close to no romance for 230+ chapters. It's not that it's boring or wasn't fun to read, but such things depend on your preferences and what you're looking for in novel. For example 'prologue' where MC escapes from his home took ~34 chapters. Chapters are long and most events described in details. It helps to keep you interested in the story.Įxtremely slow paced. Though it's a slice-of-life novel there are some interesting mind games occasionally here and there. Most of them have some kind of unique trait that makes them special and memorable. Normal and average characters aren't the part of the story. He is cunning and extremely vengeful, but not without a bottom line. In current trend this novel is like a breath of fresh air. It is more or less logical and comprehensible. No cheats / system or even a status window, but power classification is still here. Though nothing new or special, the concept of powerful politically strong empire + swords and magic + monsters and demons + battle races were integrated with no problems. I will not go into unnecessary details and will simply list some pros and cons. Hopefully I'll be able to clarify things a bit.

Idk why top reviewer is complaining about everything under the sun and other strange dudes are talking here about their own unfulfilled expectations and basic premises that exist only in their own heads but they obviously ruined the overall impression of this novel. Objectively speaking MCSL is an above average comedic slice-of-life novel with OP protagonist without any glaring flaws and isn't worse than similar good novels of the same genre.
